Rome Became the Center of the Numismatic World
In recent days, Rome hosted the jubilee IAPN Congress 2026, organized on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the International Association of Professional Numismatists (IAPN). The event is regarded as one of the most prestigious international gatherings in the field of numismatics, regularly bringing together major auction houses, dealers, scholars, and representatives of leading numismatic firms from across the globe.
The congress took place in the historic center of Rome — a city deeply connected with European history, art, and coinage. The program included professional meetings, public lectures, social events, and a visit to the Italian Mint Museum (IPZS), one of the most important numismatic institutions in Italy.

Macho & Chlapovič was represented at the congress by Elizej Macho, who participated in discussions focused on current market trends, the future of numismatics, and the challenges facing the professional numismatic community.
Participation in the IAPN Congress provided an important opportunity to exchange experiences with leading international experts, auction houses, and dealers specializing in historical coins and precious metals.

In one of the photographs from the congress, Elizej Macho is pictured together with Umberto Moruzzi, President of the Italian Numismatic Society.
Commemorative Medal for the 75th Anniversary of IAPN
To mark the 75th anniversary of IAPN, participants of the congress also received a special commemorative medal created exclusively for IAPN Congress Roma 2026.
The medal features symbolic motifs connected with the history of Rome and the world of numismatics. One side depicts a female figure wearing a laurel wreath alongside the inscription “75th Anniversary IAPN 1951–2026”, while the reverse shows the iconic Capitoline Wolf with Romulus and Remus, complemented by motifs of historical coins and the congress logo.
This commemorative medal symbolizes the continuity of professional numismatics and commemorates an important milestone in the history of one of the world’s most prestigious numismatic organizations.

75 Years of the International Association of Professional Numismatists
Founded in Geneva in 1951, the IAPN today unites more than 100 renowned numismatic companies from five continents. The organization has long promoted the highest ethical standards in the numismatic trade, supported scholarly research, and protected collectors and investors worldwide.
The jubilee congress in Rome highlighted not only the rich history of the association, but also the continuing importance of professional numismatics on an international level. For the numismatic world, it remains one of the most significant events of the year — connecting history, expertise, and the future of collecting.
