This is the second rebrand in our company’s history. This time, however, the change goes beyond a new name and visual identity. It comes at a time of continued growth and brings one important chapter of our shared story to a close.
From a family collecting tradition to an international brand
Our story began in 2010, built on three generations of collecting tradition. Four founders stood at the company’s beginnings, yet it bore two names – Macho and Chlapovič. These names represented three generations of collecting tradition in both families and became an integral part of the company’s identity.
Our original logo grew from the same roots. Its symbolism was inspired by Roth’s Kremnica medal celebrating friendship – the tree of life, deep roots and two clasped hands represented integrity, friendship and solid foundations. During our first rebrand, we simplified this visually complex identity to better suit the needs of modern communication.
A company built on people
For many years, we have focused on building a good name, increasing the value of the company, expanding and gaining international recognition. Just as importantly, we wanted to create an environment in which our people could grow alongside the business.
We therefore gave key colleagues the opportunity not only to learn and develop professionally, but gradually also to become part of the shareholder structure. Over the years, the four original founders transferred portions of their shareholdings to them – as an expression of trust, recognition of their contribution and an invitation to share responsibility for the company’s future.
Vienna as our next step
For several years, Vienna has been part of our plans as a third pillar alongside Bratislava and Prague. From the outset, we wanted to establish ourselves there in premises of our own, but finding a suitable property in the heart of the city proved exceptionally difficult for a long time.
Two years ago, an opportunity finally arose that allowed us to begin preparing the project. Vienna is intended to strengthen our position in the Central European numismatic market and expand our activities in numismatics and precious metals.
Preparing this next phase of expansion also brought important decisions about the company’s future and ultimately led to a significant change in its shareholder structure.

A shared journey takes a new direction
Radoslav Chlapovič has decided to leave the Group’s shareholder structure.
After years of intensive work building the company, he has chosen to devote more time to his family, his interests and life beyond the day-to-day responsibilities of ownership and management.
We respect his decision and sincerely congratulate him. After all these years of building the company together, one of our original founders is now our first man of independent means.
At the corporate level, our paths are parting on the best of terms – in friendship, with mutual respect and with gratitude for everything we have built together. For many years, Radoslav was one of the company’s key figures and driving forces, and his name and contribution will remain part of its history.
He will remain a shareholder in the Numizmatic Semper SICAV sub-fund, and numismatics and collecting will continue to be part of his life.
Rado, thank you for the journey we have shared. We wish you every happiness and, above all, the time and freedom to enjoy this next chapter of your life to the full.
MACHO NUMISMATIC GALLERIES
The departure of one of our founders naturally raised the question of what the brand should look like going forward. The new name reflects this change, but above all it reflects the evolution of our company and where we are heading next.
MACHO NUMISMATIC GALLERIES expresses the broader direction of our company. We are gradually developing our galleries into vibrant centres of numismatics – places where important collections can be presented, exhibitions and expert lectures can take place, knowledge can be shared and collectors can meet in person.
An auction autumn under a new name
We held our first international numismatic auction on 15 October 2011. Fifteen years later, we work with clients from more than 50 countries, hold several world auction records and are now presenting three new catalogues for our autumn auctions – for the first time under the name MACHO NUMISMATIC GALLERIES.
To mark the anniversary, we have prepared an exceptional autumn auction season with an outstanding selection, including two important collections – the Jaroslav Kokolus Collection and the Trefanec Collection.
The name MACHO & CHLAPOVIČ will remain part of our history. We are building the future around a growing team of leading specialists in numismatics, wealth management and investment strategies, together with an ambition to continue pushing the boundaries of numismatics – through expertise, international reach and by passing its values on to future generations.
