Whether you are consigning a single rare piece, a specialised collection or an extensive numismatic collection, we take an individual approach to every client – from the initial contact and expert assessment through to the auction and final settlement.
Initial Contact and Preliminary Assessment
If you are considering selling coins, medals or banknotes at auction, the first step is to contact our team. You can send photographs and a brief description of your items to info@machogalleries.com or visit us in person in Prague or Bratislava.
Our specialists will carry out a preliminary assessment of your items, evaluate their auction potential and suitability for inclusion in the auction, and recommend the next steps.

Signing the Consignment Agreement
If we agree to offer your items at auction, we will prepare a Consignment Agreement clearly setting out the terms of our cooperation, including:
- the consignment commission,
- the settlement terms,
- the terms of post-auction sales,
- the available payment options.
The agreement can be signed in person or remotely – electronically or by post.
If you decide to send your items by courier, shipping is at your own expense and responsibility. We recommend secure packaging and insured shipping.
Clear terms and transparency are the foundation of the entire process.
Expert Cataloguing and Auction Preparation
Once we receive your items, our team takes care of the entire auction preparation process. As the consignor, you do not need to manage any of the individual steps.
Each item is:
- professionally photographed in studio conditions,
- expertly identified, catalogued and graded for condition,
- assigned a starting price,
- included in both the printed and digital auction catalogue.
We also promote auction lots through our own communication channels and leading international numismatic and auction platforms, including Sixbid, NumisBids, CoinArchives and others.
Your coins, medals or banknotes can reach thousands of collectors and prospective buyers around the world.
Confirmation of Auction Inclusion
Before the auction, each consignor receives an overview of their lots by email. This includes the lot numbers under which the individual items appear in the auction catalogue, as well as their starting prices.
This gives you a clear overview of all your lots included in the auction.
The Auction
MACHO NUMISMATIC GALLERIES auctions are held in two main formats – Floor Auctions with an auctioneer and eLive Auctions.
At a Floor Auction, bidders can participate:
- in person in the auction room,
- by telephone, assisted by our team,
- through Live Bidding via AUEX,
- by placing Pre-bids via AUEX.
eLive Auctions take place entirely online – bidders can participate through Live Bidding or place Pre-bids via AUEX.
The various bidding options enable collectors and investors from around the world to participate in our auctions. Broad international participation creates a competitive bidding environment and increases the potential for strong hammer prices.

Settlement and Payment
We send the settlement statement when the proceeds from your sold lots are ready for payment. It includes:
- an overview of sold and unsold lots,
- the hammer prices achieved,
- the consignment commission,
- the final amount payable to you.
Proceeds are paid within 60 days of the end of the auction:
- by bank transfer,
- or in cash, within applicable legal limits, at our Prague or Bratislava branch.
From the moment we receive your items until the proceeds are paid, you have a clear overview of the entire process.
