Maple Leaf Gold Bullion Coins

The Gold Maple Leaf bullion coins are among the most renowned and popular coins issued by the Royal Canadian Mint. These iconic coins hold a special place in the world of minting, symbolizing quality, purity, and aesthetics.

First issued in 1979, the Maple Leaf has since become one of the crown jewels of Canadian minting history. Gold Maple Leaf bullion coins are made from the purest gold, with a fineness of 99.99%, ensuring their authenticity and high value. Thanks to this exceptional purity, they rank among the purest bullion coins in the world. The Maple Leaf bullion coins are internationally recognized and trusted by both investors and collectors.

Coin Design:

On the obverse (front) side of the Maple Leaf bullion coins, there is a portrait of the British monarch. Until 2022, this was Queen Elizabeth II, and from 2023, it features King Charles III. In addition to the portrait, the front side of the coin includes the text "ELIZABETH II AUSTRALIA" (or "CHARLES III AUSTRALIA" under the new design). The gold coin also indicates the face value according to the size of the coin, as well as the year of minting.

On the reverse (back) side, you will find the iconic image of Canada’s national symbol—the maple leaf. This detailed and precise depiction adds unique elegance and beauty to the coin. Additionally, the reverse side provides information about the coin’s fineness (9999), “FINE GOLD,” and weight, according to the coin’s size. It also includes a security mark—a small maple leaf with the last two digits of the year of issue, such as “23.” This security feature, created using laser micro-engraving technology, has been used on all gold and silver Maple Leaf bullion coins since 2014.
