Elizej is a co-founder and managing partner of the company.
His fascination with coins and money began in his early childhood. He was introduced to systematic collecting by his grandfather, the founder of the family’s collecting tradition. His professional and expert focus covers a long period ranging from Celtic coins from the territory of Slovakia to modern 20th century coinage. His specialties are Renaissance and Baroque medals and pattern strikes. Elizej’s previous experience in financial market analyses, trading, and portfolio management makes him perfectly suited for his role of strategist and market risk manager in the Macho & Chlapovič Group.

Radoslav’s friendship with Elizej and their mutual passion for numismatics were the impetus for the founding of the company.
His grandfather and passionate collector Gejza Chlapovič worked as a technical deputy in the Slovak state enterprise Mincovňa Kremnica. This meant that Radoslav regularly encountered collectors when he was still only a child. He started collecting at the age of 15, and not only collected coins, but also antiques, for which he ran a restoration workshop and shop in Kremnica. He specialises in Czechoslovak coins and their pattern strikes, as well as in Hungarian and Transylvanian coinage from the period of 1526–1792. Radoslav likes to say that by building a collection, you also build yourself.

Radoslav’s friendship with Elizej and their mutual passion for numismatics were the impetus for the founding of the company.
In the past, Elizej worked for several banks and was in the finance and banking industry for almost 20 years.
His interest in finance led him to alternative investment and, through his father and with the support of his son, to numismatics. He is mainly fascinated by the oldest coinage from the Celtic period. He admires how people living in the era before the birth of Christ managed to masterfully transform their artistic ideas into gold and silver. Elizej is one of the founding members of the company. He specialises in financial and economic management and precious metals trading.

Dušan studied law and is also a practising lawyer. His passion for exploring history and collecting coins, banknotes, stamps, and art has been with him since childhood, partly thanks to his classmate Elizej.
Over time, this passion turned into an ambitious endeavour to collect rare historical coins from the territory of Slovakia. Within the Macho & Chlapovič group, he oversees corporate governance, general legal advice and his favourite topic is the creation of optimal tools for investing in numismatics and precious metals.

Jan has been with us since the opening of the Prague branch and currently ensures its smooth operation.
He always gives his clients his full attention, regardless of whether they come in with an ordinary small coin or a truly unique piece. He encountered numismatics at an early age, as his grandfather used to collect coins and stamps and Jan, while visiting, would observe him taking care of them. In this way, he gradually gained valuable advice and experience. It taught him the patience and modesty he still has today. He specialises in coins of the Austrian Empire and the popular First Republic, as well as contemporary modern production. He is in charge of compiling our annual Catalogue of Czechoslovak, Czech and Slovak Coins. He is no stranger to older Habsburg coins and medals.

Since then, Tomáš has been heavily involved in numismatics, even at an academic research level. He regularly lectures at conferences in the Czech Republic and abroad, and publishes scholarly articles. He is considered one of the leading experts in Central European Celtic coinage and Czech coinage of the 16th and early 17th centuries.

Anna is the first person you come into contact with at our Prague branch. She has worked with people all her professional life, so her position as the Front Office Manager suits her perfectly.
She encountered numismatics for the first time at our floor auctions. At first, she only attended them as a silent observer, but later became actively involved in the smooth running of the whole event. At the beginning, she liked the “yellow Czechoslovak wheels” – St. Wenceslas ducats – the most, but gradually, she began to discover the beauty of numismatics. At present, she is most fascinated by the Jáchymov medals.

Renáta is the one who keeps you up to date on our company’s events and other news and she also likes to share interesting things from the world of numismatics and investment.
She has a degree in financial management, so the world of finance and investment is close to her. It was her husband Andrej who initially got her interested in history and numismatics. By his side, she observed the foundation and gradual growth of the company. Her favourite parts of history are the periods of the Celts and the Slavs, their ways of life, economy, jewellery, and in particular the customs and traditions they followed. In addition to Celtic coins, she is also interested in coinage from the Habsburg era, especially from the time of Maria Theresa.

Juraj originally discovered the magic of numismatics at preschool age when, while ill, he received an album from his mother, the aim of which was to collect the euro coins of the first twelve countries of the euro area.
He took the album with him on all his holidays abroad until his quest was complete. Juraj gradually expanded his collection of euro coins with coins and banknotes from Czechoslovakia and Germany. With his father, he began to regularly attend numismatic auctions, at which the most valuable golden Hungarian and Czechoslovak ducats were his favourite. Currently, he specializes in Czechoslovak and world coins, as well as paper money from our territory. Juraj ensures regular updates of our offer on various online platforms.

Three exceptional Prague ducats from the years 1536, 1538, and 1547 reflect the pinnacle of early Renaissance coin artistry in Bohemia. Minted outside the official mint structure, these highly rare coins from the Kokolus Collection will be offered in the 35th Macho & Chlapovič auction.
Gold coins minted in Prague under the direction of Konrad Sauermann are among the rarest Renaissance ducats. Only a few hundred pieces were ever produced, making them highly desirable collector’s items. In the 35th Macho & Chlapovič auction, ducats from 1541 and 1542 will be offered under lots 56 and 57.
The Budweis mint was established in the late 1560s as a response to the expanding silver mining operations in nearby Rudolfstadt. This article introduces the key engravers and mintmasters who shaped the exceptional large-denomination coins of this mint – from the earliest kreuzers to rare thalers of the 1570s. It also presents highlights from the Jaroslav Kokolus Collection, several of which will be auctioned soon.
The founding of the mint in Budweis in 1569 marked a turning point in Bohemian coinage. Driven by rich silver yields from nearby Rudolfov, the mint quickly became a key center for processing precious metals and issuing guldens. Among the earliest and rarest coins from this mint are pieces preserved in the Jaroslav Kokolus Collection, which offer a remarkable window into the artistry, history, and monetary strategy of the late 16th century.
The St. Wenceslas ducats of Czechoslovakia represent not only a symbol of national pride but also a unique witness to the turbulent history of the First Republic’s gold reserves. From their centuries-old minting tradition in Kremnica to dramatic wartime events and postwar repatriation, their story continues to captivate collectors and historians alike. Among the rarest known examples is a 1939-dated ducat from the national gold treasure—currently featured in our Auction #36.

This extraordinary commemorative issue played a significant role in the history of Central European coinage. The Macho & Chlapovič Auction #35 will feature rare Joachimsthal thalers, including this exceptional specimen.
The Schlick family played a key role in the economic and political history of 16th-century Bohemia. At Macho & Chlapovič Auction #35, collectors will have the opportunity to bid on rare historical coins, including the unique 1 1/2 Thaler from 1526.
