Michal Bosák (10 December 1869 – 18 February 1937) was a US banker born in the Šariš region of what is now Slovakia and was one of the most significant figures in the Slovak-American community. After arriving in the United States, he engaged in various business activities that enabled him to found the Michael Bosak Private Bank in Olyphant, Pennsylvania. He also supported the establishment of other banks and institutions in Pennsylvania. Alongside his business activities, Bosák was involved in supporting the American-Slovak community and was a signatory of the Pittsburgh Agreement. After the end of the First World War and the establishment of Czechoslovakia, Bosák made several visits to the nationally emancipated Slovakia and gave financial support to several projects. In 1920 he founded the American-Slovak Bank in Bratislava, which gradually expanded to include a total of 12 branches across Czechoslovakia, including one in Prague. In Prešov, he had a showpiece office built for the bank and the building is today known as Bosák’s Bank.
